Conversing with parents and children who are educated at home can indeed be an interesting experience. Of course, it is true that parent responsible for educating their children can become just as busy as teachers in a public setting but there are some distinct differences. Parents experience a reduced workload in terms of number of students they have to teach since there are usually only a child or two in the family. Yet since this is an act of love by a parent towards their children it is different in a number of ways. The life-changing benefits children can receive are especially beneficial to those who may be different in some way. Historically children in public school settings are known for their brutal cruelty towards other children as you probably have either read about, heard on the news or experienced yourself. So there are very real and concrete benefits available with the homeschool setting.
Nowadays, it has become apparent that most private and public schools are indeed overcrowded. Student to teacher ratios are said to be at or above maximum capacity. The overall economy is a concern as well since it has an effect on the budgets that schools must operate within.
That can also be a good reason for the overcrowding in classrooms as well as the decreased individual attention students receive. Many parents want to have their children educated in an environment that includes their spiritual beliefs. Along the same lines, that type of setting will not subject their children to learning historical areas that are counter to their beliefs. We think that is pretty amazing, and to think that you have barely scratched the surface about home schooling. By all means, do not stop with what you are learning here today; that would be a shame.
When you begin to see, we tend to feel you will not only have a greater appreciation for what is going on, but you will be able to use that as leverage. When it all begins to gel for you, then you will be able to rise above to some degree thanks to added knowledge. We think you will agree that added understanding is one of the true paths to personal freedom. The parent who educates their children can take the time to work on more abstract lessons such as character formation. This is a critical area that you won’t see a lot of time or focus devoted to in public and private schools. So the situation for the public school student is compounded when there is little interaction with parents, or a single parent. Life today is very fast paced. In addition to providing a sound education, homeschooling can address or resolve many of these issues as well as help build a child’s own character.
The field trips provided by schools, whether private, public or homeschools, are of course, loved by the children. However for most children, a fun outing like that does not happen nearly often enough. Depending on where you live, can you imagine taking advantage of field trips as a way to educate your children at home? But if you are near a reasonably large city, then you should have access to museums. On the other hand, you can take a field trip to just about anywhere and make it an excellent way to learn about science, biology or nature. One of the great advantages of homeschooling is your child can receive the kind of education that takes individual talents into account. The parents often are the best ones to identify a child’s talents and know where their areas of special attention might be. This is not something you will find in any other school except on rare occasions. Then the parent can devise a curriculum based on what is needed most.
